Teslak Earns Third CHA Weekly Award

For the third time this season Rachel Teslak is the College Hockey America Defenseman of the Week after leading the league in offense in a two-game series at Lindenwood. Teslak had seven points, including career-high of three points, including two goals, on Friday, and a goal and an assist on Saturday.

In Friday's game, the Orange trailed 5-1 halfway through the second period when Teslak tallied a crucial short-handed goal, on an assist from Sarah Thompson. She then secured her eighth goal of the season early in the third period to get the Orange within one, 6-5.

On Saturday, she scored the opening goal of the game and had an assist on Alexandria Weiss' goal to help send the Orange into overtime.

This season, Teslak has 21 points, including eight goals and 13 assists, in 26 games.

The Orange will play at RIT on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6 pm and Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 pm at Upstate Medical Arena at the Oncenter War Memorial. Admission to the Syracuse-RIT game is free and parking is available on downtown streets in Syracuse for no charge on Saturdays. Fans should enter through the State Street arena entrance.

The game on Feb. 10th is a partnership with the Syracuse Crunch that will feature the Orange hosting RIT at 2 pm followed by the Crunch hosting a 'Women in Sport' Panel in the Empire Room at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown from 4:30 to 6 p.m. In the nightcap, the Crunch, the American Hockey League team affiliated with the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning, will host the Rochester Americans at 7 pm.
