Syracuse Tabbed #20 in Latest AP Poll

The Syracuse women's basketball team finished the regular season 23-6 overall and 13-5 in the ACC last week and has moved down one spot to No. 20 in this week's (Week 18) Associated Press Top-25 Poll. The Orange, then-ranked #19, lost on the road at #12 NC State in overtime, 75-71, last Thursday.Â
Syracuse earned the No. 3 seed in the 2024 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament after finishing the regular season 23-6 overall and 13-5 in the league, typing program bests for regular season wins and conference wins. The six ACC road victories also tie a program record for road wins since joining the ACC in 2013-14.Â
The Orange earned their first ranking of the season, and of the Felisha Legette-Jack Era, in Week 9 but a road loss to North Carolina bumped SU out of the top-25 the following week. Syracuse returned to the AP Poll at #22 in Week 12 and have remained since. Syracuse peaked as high as No. 17 in Week 16 but closes its regular season as No. 20 in the country.Â
The Orange will face the winner of 6-seed Florida State vs. #11 UVA/#14 Wake Forest on Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
