Dyaisha Fair to Play in Women's 3-Point Championship in Phoenix
4/3/2024 12:13:00 PM | Women's Basketball
Fair was third in the ACC in scoring this season with 22.3 points per game and averaged a league-best 3.6 three-pointers per game. She led the ACC with 115 makes from behind the arc with a .377 clip, which ranked second in three-pointers made in the country. Her 115 makes in a season is second-most in Syracuse program history behind Brianna Butler's 129 during the 2015-16 season.Â
In a 18-point comeback win against #15 Florida State, Fair broke a program record for three-pointers in a game sinking nine on 14 attempts at the JMA Wireless Dome on Jan. 18.Â
Fair made 430 three-pointers in her five-year career that spanned three seasons at Buffalo (2019-22) and Syracuse (2022-24). She finished her collegiate career as the No. 3 scorer all-time in Division I women's basketball with 3,403 points and was the fastest player in Syracuse history to score 1,000 points (50 games).Â
The event returns to the GCU campus for the first time since 2017 when a capacity crowd helped tip off championship weekend. Tickets for this year's event, which start at $15, are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting www.collegeslam.com.
Along with the Men's and Women's 3-Point Championships, the King's Hawaiian Slam Dunk Championship will take place as well as the Dave's Hot Chicken Hot Shot Challenge. The winners of the Hanes Originals Soft Touch Men's and Women's 3-Point Championships will then compete in the Skechers Battle of the Champions.
This year's women's 3-point roster features a collection of some of the best three-point shooters in the country.Â
