White Earns Second Academic All-District Honor

For the second year in a row, Tatum White is a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection. A senior medicinal chemistry major with a 3.9 grade point average, White was also honored with this award, which recognizes her outstanding performance in the classroom and on the ice, in 2022-23.

The 2023-24 team captain, White is a decorated student-athlete on an off the ice. She earned the 2024 College Hockey America (CHA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, presented to the CHA player who excels in the classroom, the community and on the ice.

The Kingston, Ontario native is a four-time American Hockey Coaches Association All-America Scholar, a four-time College Hockey America (CHA) All-Academic selection and a 2023-24 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Postgraduate Scholar. For the past two years she has served as the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Culture Committee co-chair. White is also a Team IMPACT fellow and a member of the Syracuse Diversity and Inclusion Student-Athlete Board. In addition, White is active in the community in Syracuse and in her hometown. She is a volunteer at the Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse and serves as a volunteer coach for minor hockey programs and provincial camps in Ontario. During school breaks, White manages and leads youth hockey camps in her hometown, which she started in 2019. A three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection, White participates in bioengineering research at Syracuse.

On the ice, White ranks eighth nationally in faceoff wins and had 20 points on six goals and 14 assists, and 26 blocks this season. She was a finalist for the CHA Best Defensive Forward honor, which is presented to a skater who performs as the best two-way forward in the league. White played in all situations throughout the season, including on the Orange power play, which ranks 15th nationally and fourth in the CHA with 19 goals, and 18th nationally in power play percentage. She has 54 career points (18 goals and 36 assists) and 862 faceoff wins, which ranks sixth in Syracuse history. The Orange won the CHA regular season and postseason titles and earned an invitation to the NCAA Tournament during White's sophomore season.
