CHAPEL HIll, North Carolina. --Â No. 4 Syracuse women's lacrosse team takes a road trip to Chapell Hill to battle No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 22. Opening draw is set for 11 a.m. for the ACC opener for both teams.

TAKING ON THE BEST
Syracuse continues to face one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Overall, 11 of the Orange's 2025 opponents are ranked in this week's top 25, including seven of the top 10. Saturday's game is Syracuse's second against a top 10 opponent, after defeating then No. 7 Maryland last weekend.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse improved to 3-0 this season with an 18-10 victory against Cornell in the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday. Ten different players scored for the Orange, including Gracie Britton, who posted her first career hat trick. Three 'Cuse players finished with five points, including freshman Molly Guzik.

On the defensive end. Coco Vandiver caused a career-high six turnovers, which ties for second on Syracuse's single-game record list. Vandiver ranks eighth in the nation in caused turnovers, averaging 3.33 per game.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina posted a 14-9 victory against Florida last Saturday to remain undefeated this season at 3-0.

Ashley Humphrey (13g, 2a) and Chloe Humphrey (6g, 9a) are tied for the team lead in points with 15 each. Defensively, goalkeeper Betty Nelson leads the ACC in goals-against average (4.40) and save percentage (.593).

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 21st all-time meeting with North Carolina. The Tar Heels lead the all-time series, 12-8, including a 5-2 advantage in Chapel Hill.

The Orange hosted North Carolina last season in the JMA Wireless Dome. Â Syracuse jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 20-5 victory.

Five different players found the back of the net for the Orange in the first quarter. 'Cuse led, 5-1, after the first 15 minutes and took an 8-3 lead into the locker room at halftime. Syracuse outscored, North Carolina, 12-2, in the second half.

Emma Tyrrell scored five goals and led the Orange with eight points, while Natalie Smith scored four goals in the win.
