SYRACUSE, New York --Â No. 11/10 Syracuse women's lacrosse is back at home in the JMA Wireless Dome on Friday, March 7 when it welcomes No. 7/6 Stanford. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. The Orange are celebrating Military Appreciation Day at Friday's game.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse enters Friday's contest with a 3-3 record and a 0-2 mark in ACC play. The Orange's next two opponents are ranked in this week's top 10, meaning five of Syracuse's first eight games of the year are against top 10 teams. The Orange's opponents have a combined record of 22-4 this season for a .846 winning percentage. Only Colorado's opponents have a better winning percentage so far this season.

Syracuse's freshman class is making quite an impact in 2025. The group accounts for 32.1 percent of the Orange's goals this season (25), 31.8 percent of assists (14) and 32.0 percent of points (39). In addition, Lexi Reber has started all six games on defense.

SCOUTING THE CARDINAL
A last-second defensive stand kept No. 7 Stanford's unbeaten run alive as the Cardinal earned a close 14-13 win over Villanova on Saturday afternoon. The win improved Stanford's record to 6-0. The Cardinal is 2-0 against in its first season in the ACC.

Redshirt sophomore Aliya Polisky leads the Cardinals with 26 points on 23 goals and three assists. Sophomores Elise Murphy (7g, 16a) and Ava Arceri (16g, 7a) both have 23 points.

Goalkeeper Lucy Pearson has posted an 8.75 goals-against average and a .405 save percentage this season.

Friday's game marks the sixth all-time meeting between Syracuse and Stanford. The Orange own a 4-1 advantage in the series.

The 2022 season opener in the JMA Wireless Dome was the last meeting between the squads. The game was head coach Kayla Treanor's first on the Syracuse sideline. Neither team could pull away in the first half, which ended in a 6-6 tie.

The Orange scored the only two goals of the third quarter and opened the fourth with a 4-1 scoring run to take the largest lead of the game at 12-7 with 6:30 remaining. Stanford scored the final two goals of the game for the 12-9 final. Meaghan Tyrrell led all scorers with six goals.
