After making 11 saves and posting a .550 save percentage in Syracuse's quadruple-overtime win over Notre Dame, Daniella Guyette was named the IWLCA's National Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
The Orange played the longest game in program history, and Guyette was central to making it possible. With Notre Dame applying pressure in triple overtime, she turned away three shots to preserve the tie and keep Syracuse alive — setting the stage for Caroline Trinkaus' game-winner as time expired in the fourth overtime.
The recognition adds to a career year for one of the nation's top keepers. Guyette owns a 7.01 goals-against average — third-best in the country — while facing the second-toughest strength of schedule in the nation. She was previously named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and earned Nike Midseason All-American honors. This marks her first IWLCA National Co-Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
Syracuse closes out the regular season Thursday at Boston College. First Draw is set for 5:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, with the game airing on ESPNU.
