Molly Guzik and Coco Vandiver each earned spots on the All-ECAC Women's Lacrosse Team, the conference announced Wednesday. The ECAC comprises 67 Division I institutions, with honorees also coming from Army, Boston College, Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Navy, Stony Brook and Yale. The ECAC is a collection of institutions in the eastern region of the United States.
Â
Guzik led the Orange with 54 points on 44 goals and 10 assists and was named a First Team All-ACC honoree. The sophomore scored in 18 of 20 appearances and logged three goals or more in eight games. She had a breakout performance against then-ranked No. 4 Northwestern when she poured in six goals in a 9-6 road victory. She was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week and USA Lacrosse Magazine's National Player of the Week for her six-goal performance.
Â
Vandiver wrapped up her Orange career as one of the most disruptive defenders in program history, retiring as Syracuse's all-time caused turnovers leader at 122. Her 48 caused turnovers this season rank second in school history, trailing only Lahah's 57, and the two became the first teammates in program history to each reach 40 in a single season. Their contributions anchored a defense that surrendered just 8.1 goals per game and created 11.9 turnovers per contest.
Â
The Orange are building off a 14-win season in which they reached as high as No. 3 in the national polls and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
