2002-03: Qualified for the BIG EAST Championship in her first season at SU...competed in the preliminaries of the 100 freestyle (53.90), the 200 freestyle (1:52.80), the 500 freestyle (5:05.47) and the 800 freestyle relay (7:39.76)...finished second in three events in a dual meet against Seton Hall...a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
High School: Two-time All-America selection at Stevenson High School...a four-time first-team all-state performer...four-time all-conference honoree...competed in the 200 and 500 freestyle and the 200 individual medley...her team posted a 6-0 dual-meet record in 1998 and went 5-1 her final three seasons...also competed on the school's water polo team...posted career-best times her senior year in the 200 freestyle (1:52.08), the 500 freestyle (5:02.76) and the 100 backstroke (58.32)...set five school records and two pool records during her tenure...served as team captain her junior and senior years...an all-conference track performer her freshman year...voted the Athlete of the Year at her school...member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Born Sept. 6, 1983...daughter of Bob and Karen Westrich...two brothers, one sister...majoring in political science.
