2002-03: Recipient of the Jon R. Buzzard Award which goes to the team's top male performer...selected to participate in the 2003 NCAA Leadership Conference, May 25-29, at Disney’s Wide World of Sport’s Complex and Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida...one of 273 student-athletes selected from among 1,172 nominated from 302 NCAA member institutions...competed with SU’s 400-meter medley relay which placed ninth (3:56.91) at the ConocoPhillips National Swimming Championship in Indianapolis...placed 41st out of 68 swimmers in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:05.82)...set a Webster Pool record in the 100 breaststroke against Villanova with a time of 58.02...his fastest time in the 50 freestyle (20.71) was reached at the Nike Cup...was 14th in the 50 free at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 20.76...was sixth at the conference championship in the 100 breaststroke (55.95), but posted a personal-best time of 55.74 in this event in the prelims of the Nike Cup..was SU’s top finisher at the Nike Cup with a third-place finish in the finals of the 100 breaststroke (55.97)...won three events at three different dual meets during the season (against Colgate, Connecticut and Villanova)...member of the fall and spring Athletic Director’s Honor Roll...a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
2001-02: Received the team's Barlow Award which is presented each year for academic and athletic excellence...finished ninth at the BIG EAST Championship in the 100 breaststroke (56.75) and 10th in the 50 freestyle (20.89)...helped the 400 freestyle relay to a fifth-place finish (3:03.29) at the conference meet and the 200 medley relay to a seventh-place finish (1:32.92)...captured three first-place finishes against Seton Hall and two in a dual-meet at Colgate...a BIG EAST Academic All-Star...Athletic Director’s Honor Roll both semesters.
2000-01: Voted the team’s Rookie of the Year...finished eighth in the 100 breaststroke at the BIG EAST Championships (57.10)...was 11th in the 50 freestyle (20.99)...was 13th in the 100 freestyle...served as the anchor for SU’s record-breaking 200 medley relay...ended up with the team’s fastest times in the 50 and 100 freestyles (45.99), which were the 14th-fastest times in the conference for the season...a BIG EAST Academic All-Star...Athletic Director’s Honor Roll both semesters.
High School: Team won the IASAS championship his senior year...set school records in the 100-meter freestyle (52.53), the 50-meter freestyle (23.93), the 100-meter breaststroke (1:06.99) and the 50-meter butterfly (26.98)...team captain...earned Independent School honorable mention All-America status...named team MVP his first two years...recipient of the Burdell-Wood Memorial Award which goes to the best scholar-athlete.
Personal: Born Sept. 20, 1981...son of James and Linda Raymond...one brother...father played football at Syracuse from 1966-70, the same time his mother attended SU...majoring in accounting & finance, and information management & technology.
