SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Fifth-ranked Syracuse used a second-half offensive explosion to defeat No. 10 Boston University, 17-8, on Wednesday, Mar. 4 in the Carrier Dome. The Orange outscored the Terriers, 12-1, in the second half, helping Syracuse overcome a two-goal halftime deficit.
“I thought today was a great opportunity for us to rebound after our weekend performance (against Virginia),” said head coach Gary Gait. “I think we saw a little bit of the aftereffects in the first half of the way we played against Virginia. All of the things that we have been working on all week came through in the second half. I think our team stepped up to the next level. I am looking forward to that to continue as we move forward.”
