SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Eighth-ranked Syracuse hosts BIG EAST newcomer Villanova on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange improved its record to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST play with a 13-11 come-from-behind victory against Loyola on Friday night. Villanova enters the game with a record of 7-5, including an 0-4 mark in conference action.

THE SERIES
Sunday's game will be the first meeting between Syracuse and Villanova in women's lacrosse. The Wildcats are playing in the BIG EAST Conference for the first time this season. Villanova is still looking for its first conference win, entering the game with 0-4 mark against BIG EAST foes.
ON THE BRINK
Syracuse senior Christina Dove is on the brink of reaching a major scoring milestone. She needs two points to become just the 23rd player in Division I history to record 300 career points. Dove led the Orange with six points against Loyola, giving her 298 in her career. She is the active Division I leader in points (298) and goals (223).
HOGAN JOINS ELITE COMPANY
Junior goalkeeper Liz Hogan joined an elite group with her performance against Loyola. Hogan made 13 saves against Loyola, increasing her career total to 410. She becomes just the third goalkeeper in school history to make 400 saves in her career.
