
Dove Named to ESPN The Magazine/ CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior midfielder Christina Dove has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's At-Large First Team released on Thursday, June 10. Dove is making her first appearance on the first team after earning second-team honors last season.
It marks the second consecutive season that a member of the Orange women's lacrosse program has been named to the Academic All-America First Team. Katie Rowan also earned the honor in 2009.
Dove ended her career as one of the top scorers in the history of the sport. She is tied for ninth on the NCAA Division I career goals scored list (250) and 11th in career points (335). Dove is Syracuse's all-time leader in goals and ranks second in points. In 2010, she earned first-team All-America honors after leading the Orange in scoring with 97 points. Dove ranked fourth in the nation in points and goals (69), 11th in goals per game (3.14) and 12th in points per game (4.41). She earned the 2010 BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year award for the second consecutive season and was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team.
A finance and accounting major, Dove is a four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester. She has also been a member of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Dove was also chosen as the 2009-10 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete institutional award winner.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
