
Tyson-Thomas Named to Honor Roll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced today. It is the first weekly honor roll mention of the season for Tyson-Thomas and fifth for the Orange. Syracuse and Marquette are the only two teams to have five different players named to the honor roll this season.
The Philadelphia, Pa. native averaged 12.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Orange. Tyson-Thomas notched her eighth career double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds against DePaul while adding eight points and 10 rebounds against Villanova.
A 2009-10 BIG EAST All-Rookie Team selection, Tyson-Thomas is averaging 8.8 points per game, which ranks fifth on the team and leads the squad with 7.6 rebounds per contest. She has played in all 24 games for the Orange this season, averaging 24.5 minutes per game.
Tyson-Thomas and the Orange complete a three-game home stand when they host Louisville on Wednesday, February 16 at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
