Bubble Buster Preview
The Syracuse men's and women's cross country teams will travel to the University of Toledo to compete in the second annual Inter-Regional Bubble Buster on Friday, Sept. 21st at Ottawa Park. The No. 13 men's team will race at 5:10 p.m. in the four-mile race. At 6:10 p.m., the No. 22 women's team will face off against some tough competition in the 4,000m race.

"The women's race this weekend at Toledo is going to be a great race for our girls because there are going to be seven ranked teams there," head coach Chris Fox said. "If we can beat four, five or six of those ranked teams, it would help us gather points and ensure our trip to nationals."

Toledo Bubble Buster Preview
- The second annual Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster will take place at Ottawa Park Golf Course.
- Men race at 5:10 p.m. in the four-mile race. No. 13 SU will face off against Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, UNC Charlotte and San Francisco.
- Women race at 6:10 p.m. in the 4,000m race against a total of three ranked teams. No. 22 Syracuse will race against No. 18 Toledo, No. 23 San Francisco and No. 25 West Virginia, BYU, Portland, Iowa, Butler, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Lipscomb, UNC Charlotte, Navy and Ohio.
Dartmouth Invite Recap
- The men finished in first place in their second straight meet. The men finished an impressive 14 of the top 17 runners. Junior Joe Whelan was the top-finisher for the Orange in the 8k run, finishing second overall with a time of 24:50.10.
- The women claimed third place behind No. 3 Georgetown and hosts Dartmouth. Senior Sarah Pagano finished the race in 21:38.70 which was good for seventh place and the top SU time.Â
Honor Roll
- Sophomore Katie Fleischer garnered the first SU cross country accolade this season after being named the BIG EAST Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 3rd. Fleischer was the top Orange finisher in the Harry Lang Invitational and raced to an overall second place finish with a time of 16:02.
SU in the Polls
- The men are ranked at No. 13 in the most recent USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Poll after receiving 224 points
- The women are placed at No. 22 with 115 points.
- In the regional rankings, the women were ranked at the No. 3 spot of the Northeast Regional bracket
- The men are ranked at the No. 2 spot following Iona in the Northeast Regional rankings
- Both the men and the women captured the Northeast Regional title for the third consecutive season in 2011
