XC Men Win Second Race of the Season

HANOVER, N.H.—The Orange men won their second meet of the season, taking first place at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning by a 10-point margin. The women's team took second place to No. 6 Georgetown by just eight points.

Redshirt freshman MJ Erb took second place among point-eligible runners, missing the win by less than two seconds with a time of 23:59.56 in the eight-kilometer race. Griff Graves was right behind him in fourth place, to add five points to the Syracuse total. Each of the Orange points scorers finished in the top ten to give SU a team total of 24 points.

Jessie Petersen was the best runner among the Orange women, finishing in third place overall with at time of 21:04.43 in the six kilometer race. Margo Malone (7th) and Brianna Nerud (8th) also finished in the top ten, which helped SU take a team score of 54.

The cross country team will have a weekend off before heading to Massachusetts for the Boston Inter-Regional on Friday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m.
