XC Men Take Second At BC Invite, Women Place Seventh at Roy Griak

The Syracuse cross country team finished competition at two different races this weekend. The men's squad raced at the Boston College Invitational and the women headed out to Minnesota for the Roy Griak Invitational.

The Orange men took second place overall, finishing behind No. 12 Oregon with 69 points. Martin Hehir was the top finisher for SU, taking third place with a time of 24:12, just one second outside of first.

Hehir was the only top ten finisher but all of the Syracuse point scorers finished in the top 20 of 140 runners. Reed Kamyszek, Ryan Urie, MJ Erb and Griff Graves all contributed to the second place finish.

The women's team took seventh out of 28 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational. Margo Malone was the top performer, finishing in 22nd place out of 300 runners with a time of 21:29. Jessie Petersen, Brenna Symoniak, Brianna Nerud and Maura Linde were the point scorers for the Orange.

The team gets two weeks off before they head to the Princeton Invitational on October 19.
