Treanor Earns IWLCA Attacker of the Year Award

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse sophomore Kayla Treanor was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Attacker of the Year at the organization's All-American banquet. Treanor is the fourth member of the Orange to earn a national player of the year award and the second to be named Attacker of the Year.
Treanor led the nation in scoring with 117 points and was second in goals with a school-record 79. She was a finalist for both the Tewaaraton Award and the Honda Sports Award. Treanor earned IWLCA All-America First Team honors and was voted the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Offensive Player of the Year. The All-ACC First Team honoree was also a member of the NCAA and ACC All-Tournament teams. Treanor ranks seventh on Syracuse's all-time scoring list (212 pts.) and is sixth in career goals (150) and tied for seventh in career assists (62).
The Orange was ranked No.2 in the final IWLCA poll, equaling its highest finish in the polls in school history. Syracuse won a school-record 21 games this season and claimed a share of the ACC regular-season title in its first year in the league. The Orange earned a program-best No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the national championship game for the second time in three years.
