Cross Country Ready for NCAA Regional

With only two meets left in the season, the Orange head to Boston, Mass. to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional. As the top teams in the Northeast compete against one another, both the Syracuse  men and women look to reclaim their top five finishes from last season.

Last Time Out
- The Syracuse men are coming off its fourth-straight conference championship (third-straight ACC) and sixth conference title in seven seasons.
- The men were led by Justyn Knight (second), Colin Bennie (fourth) and Martin Hehir (fifth) en route to placing five runners in the top-20.
- The women took fourth overall, improving four spots from 2014, behind another podium finish from Margo Malone, who took third.
2014 Regional Rewind
- Last season, the men's team out-ran Providence (48 pts.), Iona (60 pts.), Columbia (126 pts.), and Boston College (180 pts.), to claim their second straight title at the NCAA Northeast Regional championship.
- Top finisher of the team, Martin Hehir, placed 6th overall with a time of 30:36.12. Closely following, Joel Hubbard ran to 7th place with a time of 30:36.73, while Dan Lennon placed 8th (30:38.07), MJ Erb ran to 9th (30:38.41), Colin Bennie finished 15th (30:43.68), Reed Kamyszek placed 18th (30:51.79), and Andrew Palmer finished 55th (31:33.24).
- The Women's team, in 2014, finished in 4th place overall, making it their second year in a row finishing in the top 5. Over the Orange, Iona placed first with a total of 91 points, leading Providence (128 pts.), Dartmouth (136 pts.), Syracuse (154 pts.), and Boston College (180 pts.).
- Margo Malone led the way for the Orange finishing 5th in the women's 6K with a time of 20:19.57. Following Malone, Maura Linde placed 25th with a time of 21:02.48, Jessie Petersen placed 26th (21:03.90), Rebecca Skodis ran to 41st (21:22.22), Sydney Leiher finished 57th (21:35.04), Angelica Peck took 72nd (21:45.86), and Haley Cutright finished 93rd in 21:59.02.

- Following their dominant ACC victory, the Syracuse men remained at No. 2 nationally, while the women currently sit at No. 19.

A Look at the Regional
- Both the Men's 10K and the Women's 6K will take place at the historically known Franklin Park in Boston.
- The women will begin their race around the park at noon, followed by the men's championship starting at 1pm.
