Despite the loss of All-Region selection Jordan Page to graduation, the Orange still return student-athletes with experience.
Annalena Ulbrich, who started 14 games as a rookie last season along with Allie Manheimer, who played in 11 games in her first year on campus, each return for their sophomore seasons to highlight the 'Cuse defense.
Ulbrich recorded 24 points on 10 goals and four assists in her freshman season, including two game-winning goals.
Mannheimer, a native of Skillman, N.J., has yet to record a point in her tenure with the Orange but saw action in a number of crucial contests including the Orange's 2-1 win over Boston University in the NCAA Tournament last season.
In addition, fellow sophomore Lies Lagerweij also played back for stretches of the 'Cuse season last year, earning an NCAA All-Tournament team nod after helping the Orange to its first NCAA title game in program history.
Bussum, Netherlands native Roos Weers highlights the newcomers who will play defense for Syracuse.Â
Syracuse kicks off its 2015 season on Friday at 7 p.m. eastern when the No. 4 ranked Orange head to No. 6 Stanford.
