Orange Battle Tar Heels For ACC Title

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Â No. 4 Syracuse goes for its second consecutive ACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament title on Sunday, May 1 when it faces No. 3 North Carolina. The championship game is set for 1 p.m. in Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Va. The top-seeded Tar Heels and No. 2 seed Orange will meet for the league crown for the second consecutive year.

ORANGE TO MAKE THIRD STRAIGHT TITLE GAME APPEARANCE
Syracuse defeated No. 6 Notre Dame, 9-5, in the semifinals on Friday night to advance to the ACC Tournament championship game for the third consecutive year. With its win against the Fighting Irish, the Orange extended their tournament winning streak to five games, dating back to the 2015 tournament. Overall, Syracuse has a 7-1 all-time record in the conference championship.

LEVY SHINES
Freshman Nicole Levy (East Islip, N.Y.) is Syracuse's leading scorer through the first two rounds of the ACC Tournament. She has tallied eight points on a team-best seven goals and one assist. Levy scored a season-high five goals in the Orange's quarterfinal win against Boston College.

ORANGE VS. TAR HEELS – ROUND TWO
Syracuse and North Carolina will meet for the second time this season. The first meeting took place in the Carrier Dome on April 16. The Tar Heels jumped out to a 4-2 lead before the Orange tallied five straight goals to take a 7-4 lead. UNC came back and scored the final two goals of the half to cut the deficit to one at halftime. Syracuse led 10-7 in the second half, but North Carolina outscored the Orange, 5-1, over the final 24:53 to record the 12-11 victory.

THE SERIES
Sunday's contest is the ninth all-time meeting between the two schools. The Orange own a 5-3 advantage in the series.
