CHESTER, Pa. – A spot in the national championship game is on the line when No. 4 Syracuse faces No. 1 Maryland in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse national semifinals on Friday, May 27. The Orange and Terps will play in the second semifinal at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa. slated for 7:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3. Live audio will also be available on ESPN Radio 1200AM in Syracuse as well as Cuse TV on Cuse.com. WJPZ 89.1FM will also broadcast the game.

ORANGE IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
Syracuse is making its fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament semifinals and seventh in the past nine years. The Orange have an all-time record of 17-13 in NCAA Tournament play and a 2-4 mark in the semifinal round. Syracuse has advanced to the championship game twice in the last four years.

Syracuse and Maryland will meet during championship weekend for the fourth straight year. The Terrapins defeated the Orange in the national semifinals in 2013 and 2015 and in the championship game in 2014.

TREANOR RANKS AMONG ALL-TIME GREATS
Senior Kayla Treanor is nearing two more milestones in her storied career. She needs just five points to become Syracuse's all-time scoring leader. In addition, Treanor is eight away from the 400-point plateau. She would become just the second NCAA Division I women's player to accomplish the feat.

SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
Defending national champion Maryland enters Friday's game as the No. 1 team in the nation. The Terrapins are undefeated with a 21-0 record.

Maryland is led by its two Tewaaraton Award finalists, midfielder Taylor Cummings and defender Alice Mercer. Cummings leads the Terps with 74 points on 55 goals and 19 assists. She also has 134 draw controls and 50 caused turnovers. Mercer has 33 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Megan Taylor has a 6.31 goals-against average and a .486 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Friday's game will be the second meeting this season and 21st all-time meeting between Syracuse and Maryland. The Terrapins lead the series, 19-1.

The winner of the Syracuse-Maryland game will take on the winner of the first semifinal between No. 3 North Carolina and Penn State on Sunday, May 29 at noon for the national championship.
