Butler Completes First Professional Season

Split 2016-17 season in Australia and Israel
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Brianna Butler, the all-time 3-point field goals made leader in Syracuse women's basketball history, completed her first professional season with the Perth Lynx. Butler helped Perth to a third-place finish in the Women's National Basketball League in Australia.
In 18 games played, Butler averaged 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest during the 2016-17 season. She ranked fourth on the team in 3-point field-goal percentage, connecting on more than 37 percent of her attempts from long range.
The King of Prussia, Pa. native began her year with Elitzur Maclaren Holon in the Israeli Female Basketball Premier League. In two games, she tallied 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per outing.
Following the Orange's run to the 2016 national final, Butler was drafted in the second round of the WNBA Draft, 23rd overall, by the Los Angeles Sparks. She participated in training camp with Los Angeles, but was one of the team's last cuts.
Butler ranks sixth in program history with 1,640 points scored in her collegiate career. She knocked down 373 3-point field goals in her time on campus, the top mark in Syracuse women's basketball history.
