Murray Leads U.S. Past Poland in World Games Opener

WROCLAW, Poland – Attacker Alyssa Murray '14 recorded 12 points to lead the U.S. women's lacrosse team to a 20-0 victory against Poland in the opener of The World Games on Thursday, July 27 in Wroclaw, Poland.

Murray, who was an alternate on the U.S. team that won the World Cup five days ago, was activated for The World Games and scored three goals and dished out nine assists to lead the U.S. attack. Becca Block '13 helped Team USA defense shut out the host team and hold Poland to no shots. She also scored three goals. Michelle Tumolo '13 added an assist.

The World Games are a non-Olympic multi-sport event hosted by the International World Games Association. The U.S. will play Great Britain on Friday, while Team Canada takes on Japan.
