Women's Basketball Schedules Unique Series Against Texas A&M

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University women's basketball will play Texas A&M in a two-game series with contests in White Plains, N.Y. in 2018-19 and at a neutral site in Texas in 2019-20. The series featuring top 25 programs will begin on Wednesday, November 14 (7 pm tipoff) at the Westchester County Center, the home of the WNBA's New York Liberty. Tickets for Syracuse's game against Texas A&M, which will go on sale soon, are $15 for general admission seating and $75 for courtside seats and the VIP experience. Parking at the Westchester County Center is $10.
The game will kick off 'Cuse in the City Week as the first of four Syracuse Athletics events scheduled for the Metropolitan New York Area in November. After the women's basketball game on November 14, the men's basketball team will play in the 2K Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden on November 15 and 16. The Orange football team will conclude 'Cuse in the City Week on November 17 playing Notre Dame in Yankee Stadium.
Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman's roster features five returning starters from the 2017-18 NCAA Tournament team, including guards Tiana Mangakahia and Gabrielle Cooper. Mangakahia had a breakout season in her first year at Syracuse, garnering national attention en route to setting a program and ACC record as the nation's leader in assists (304) and assists per game (9.8). She was a top-10 finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard Award and led the team with 17.5 points per game. Cooper returns as the longest-tenured starter for the Orange. She started in all 31 games during the 2017-18 season and has started all 63 games during her Syracuse career. She was second in made three-pointers last season (80) and averaged 10.4 points per game.
Hillsman enters his 13th season at Syracuse as the program's all-time winningest coach. He led the 2017-18 Orange to their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament, and seventh during his tenure, and a 22-9 overall record.
Syracuse is 1-1 against Texas A&M. The Orange defeated the Aggies in 2013 and lost in 2016.
Syracuse 2018-19 season tickets are available for $75 in the General Admission sections and $125 for courtside reserved seating. Football and men's basketball current season ticket holders can add general admission seating women's basketball season tickets to their accounts for a special $50 rate.
