Orange Set for Coast-to-Coast Battle

The No. 10 Syracuse men's cross country team and No. 22 women's team head into the biggest meet of the season thus far on Friday, at the Coast-to Coast Battle in Beantown.

About the Meet

Features a women's 5K, men's 8K and combined 5K
The meet begins with the women's 5K at 3:00 p.m.
The men's race features four other ranked programs, including No. 12 Campbell who sits just two spots behind Syracuse.
The women's race has four ranked teams, led by No. 11 Providence.

Last Time at Coast-to-Coast Battle:

The Orange returned to the meet after their absence in 2016 to compete in the Panorama Farms Invitational.
The men won the event for the second-straight time they competed (2015, 2017) and the women earned sixth place overall.
Junior Aiden Tooker and All-Americans Colin Bennie and Philo Germano each finished in the top-five following the Illinois duo of Jesse Reiser and Jonathan Davis.
On the women's side, Paige Stoner crossed the finish line in third place, followed by Madeleine Davison (22), Shannon Malone (27), Rachel Bonner (49) and Taylor Spillane (64).

Last Time Out:

The men won the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, securing six of the top nine spots. The women's team finished second behind No. 12 Penn State.
ACC Performer of the Week, Iliass Aouani led the Orange with his second place finish and 25:41 time. Kevin James, Noah Affolder and Joe Dragon, who took home third through fifth, followed closely behind.
The men finished with 21 points, far ahead of Penn State who finished with 57.
Madeleine Davison was at the front of the pack for the women, crossing the finish line in fourth place with her 21:03 time. Rachel Bonner, Abigail Spiers and Mary Malone earned top-10 finishes earning the fifth, ninth and tenth place spots.
The women finished with 55 points, 23 points behind the Penn State Nittany Lions (32).
