SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse begins a four game home stretch with a weekend challenge against College HockeÂÂy America (CHA) foe Penn State. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Friday, and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be streamed via Cuse.tv. It's Youth Weekend for the Orange and there will be a pizza giveaway Friday along with the start of a tournament for EA Sports' NHL 20, the winner of which will receive a copy of the video game. Saturday, fans will have the chance to skate with the Orange postgame for $2.

LAST TIME OUT
The Orange are coming off a weekend split with CHA leader Robert Morris. 'Cuse lost the first game of the weekend, 5-1, but managed to come back to shutout the Colonials, 1-0, to close out the weekend. Freshman forward Brynn Koocher was awarded her first CHA Rookie of the Week honor after her two-point weekend (1 G, 1 A). Saturday's win marked the 400th for head coach Paul Flanagan.

An ensemble of Orange are approaching the 50-point milestone, and senior goalie Ady Cohen is nearing a career-best 10 wins in a season:
     - Cohen: 9 wins
     - Kelli Rowswell: 48 points
     - Jessica DiGirolamo: 47 points

A CLASS OF THEIR OWN
On Jan. 18, 2020, head coach Paul Flanagan earned his 400th career win with a 1-0 victory over Robert Morris. Flanagan became the seventh collegiate women's coach to hit the milestone, and second in the CHA behind Mercyhurst's Michael Sisti.

Syracuse claimed its 100th College Hockey America victory with a 7-0 shutout of Lindenwood Dec. 7 in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Syracuse holds the all-time advantage heading into the weekend with a record of 25-1-6, the lone loss coming to Penn State in 2015. Earlier this year, Syracuse took a 3-1 victory over the Nittany Lions and a 1-1 tie on the road.

SYRACUSE RANKINGS
     - The Orange are tied for the 12th-best scoring offense in the nation, averaging three goals per game.Â
     - Two of Syracuse's top-three most productive skaters are defenders in senior captain Lindsay Eastwood (6-12-18) and junior Jessica DiGirolamo (7-8-15). Those two and Mae Batherson (3-12-15) make up three of the top four scoring defensemen in the CHA. The trio combines for 16 goals and 48 points.
     - Batherson ranks 21st in the NCAA and first in the CHA in points per game among freshmen. Anna Leschyshyn (5-6-11) ranks third in the CHA.
     - With 13, Abby Moloughney is tied for fifth in the conference in total assists.
     - Syracuse boasts two of the CHA's top-three most productive freshmen in Batherson and Leschyshyn. Madison Beishuizen (2-7-9), and Brynn Koocher (5-3-8) rank sixth and 9th, respectively.
     - The Orange lead the conference in first-period goals with 21 on the year. Mercyhurst (20) and RMU (19) rank first and second.

Penn State is 9-9-6 on the year and 4-3-3 in conference. The Nittany Lions rank fourth in the CHA, just below third-place Syracuse.
     - Natalie Heising (8-4-12) leads Penn State, along with Brooke Madsen (6-8-14) and Shea Nelson (5-7-12).
     - Madsen, Heising and Rene Gangarosa all have three power-play goals on the year.
     - Penn State ranks 18th in the nation in scoring defense and fourth in team shutouts.
     - Goaltender, Chantal Burke, ranks fourth in the nation in SV% (.941) and shutouts (5), and ranks sixth in GAA (1.50).
     - The Nittany Lions haven't lost a game in four outings
     (2-0-2).
