
Orange Race at Pair of Friday Meets

The Orange took 13th in both the men's and women's races at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational – an event that featured a combined 43 ranked programs across both races.
Savannah Roark took 31st in 20:21.7 to lead the Orange women. Behind her, Abigail Spiers (85th/20:48.4), Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (126th/21:02.4), Ivy Gonzales (131st/21:04.1) and Oliva Joly (134th/21:05.1) made up the 'Cuse scoring.
Nathan Lawler finished 27th in the men's race, crossing the line in 23:31.9. Noah Carey (23:35.4) was 67th, Nathan Henderson (23:59.7) took 86th, Assaf Harari (24:01.1) finished 92nd and Sam Lawler (24:03.4) was 99th to make up the scoring.
No. 1 NC State won the women's meet, and No. 2 Stanford took the men's race.
At Penn State, the 'Cuse men took fifth, while the women placed seventh.
The SU men played two in the top-10 and three in the top-15, led by Silas Derfel (25:11.6), who finished sixth. Karl Winter (25:22.4) finished ninth and Ethan Wechsler (25:32.0) was 13th. Kevin Robertson (26:05.8) and Patrick Malone (27:07.5) finished 31st and 81st to round out the scoring.
The men's 5.2 mile race was won by La Salle in 50 points.
Emma Eastman was the top finisher on the women's side, crossing the line in 21:06.7. Teammates Justus Holden-Betts (35th/21:36.6), Shona McCulloch (39th/21:42.1), Kensey May (42nd/21:43.9) and Reilly Zink (53rd/21:57.9) crossed the line shortly after to make up Syracuse's scoring.
West Virginia won the women's race.
The Orange will conclude the regular season next Friday at the John Reif Memorial.
