'Cuse Closes Regular Season at Cornell Friday

The No. 4 Syracuse men's and No. 28 women's cross country teams will conclude their regular season at the John Reif Memorial on Friday at Cornell.
The 5k races won't feature any of the SU runners on the squads that featured strong finishes at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational last week, with just a week to go before the ACC Championships. Instead, it'll feature opportunities for some of the younger members of the 'Cuse rosters – with 12 of the 16 runners set to compete as either freshmen or sophomores.

ORANGE ENTRIES
Men:
Noah Beveridge and Alex Herbst are the most experienced runners to race on Friday. They'll be joined by Eamon Burke, Joey Hendershot, Patrick Malone, Kamari Miller, Garbriel Planty and Ruben Rojas Betanzos. Connor Ackley and Noah Carey will also race unattached to preserve their redshirts.
Women:
Lizzie Bigelow, Tess Fitzmaurice, Caroline Kirby, Madeline Lutz, Taylor Mascetta, Olivia Shattuck, Bethany Steiner, Emily Toth-Ratazzi and Lucy Zombek will race as potential scorers for the Orange, with Justus Holden-Betts and Barbora Svobodova competing unattached.
ABOUT THE ORANGE
'Cuse vaulted up to No. 4 on the men's side in the latest USTFCCCA Poll. The Orange now have their highest ranking since the 2017 season and are the top-ranked team in the ACC.
The women maintained a spot in the rankings, dropping to No. 28 nationally, and are currently the second-ranked team from the Northeast Region.
