Syracuse will begin defense of its 2022 College Hockey America championship on Thursday, October 26th at Tennity Ice Pavilion. The Orange (1-7-1 overall) will play RIT (2-8) in the first of a home-and-home series on Thursday (6 pm, Cuse.com) with the second game scheduled for RIT on Saturday, October 29 at 7:30 pm (FloHockey.com). The game is dedicated to promoting Breast Cancer Awareness, a theme that will be featured throughout the night. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support.

Syracuse prevailed in all five meetings last season, including a 3-2 overtime win in the 2022 CHA Tournament semifinals in February at Tennity. Forward Abby Moloughney scored a hattrick for the Orange. Defensemen Mae Batherson and Hannah Johnson recorded assists on the game-winning goal.

The Orange have won 27 of the 42 meetings in the series, including an 8-0-1 mark in the last nine.

A Trio of Honors
Orange defenseman Mae Batherson, goaltender Arielle DeSmet and forward Mik Todd are CHA Award winners for their effort at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Lake Placid.

Bellefontaine Tied for Ninth
Graduate student Lauren Bellefontaine is tied for ninth on Syracuse's career points record list after scoring a goal against Holy Cross. The forward has 86 career points, six shy of the eighth spot on the list.

DeSmet Inches Closer to Saves Record
Graduate student Arielle DeSmet is second on Syracuse's career saves record list. She added 70 saves, including 38 against Clarkson and 32 against Holy Cross, to her career total at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Lake Placid. DeSmet is also among the standouts on the single-game and single-season saves record lists:
• Single game: 54 at Penn State (2/5/2022), which ranks second in Syracuse history
• Single season: 775 last season, which is also second in the Syracuse record book.

Orange Seeds

• Sarah Marchand's two assists against Holy Cross increased her career total to 20 just 41 games. Her career scoring numbers include 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points.
• Mae Batherson tallied two assists against Holy Cross, giving her 35 in her career. She has 45 points, including 10 goals and 35 assists, in 97 games. She has had two assists in five games during her Syracuse tenure.
Batherson also has 103 career blocked shots, which ranks 13th on Syracuse's career record list.
• First-year skater Mik Todd tallied her first career points with a goal and an assist in the game against Holy Cross.
• Junior forward Tatum White ranks 16th in the nation with 87 faceoff wins. She had a season-high 16 victories in the circle at Merrimack (10/1). Her career-best is 20 at Robert Morris (2/26/21) during her first season at Syracuse.
• Junior defensemen Hannah Johnson recorded an assist and a block in the game against Holy Cross. She leads the team with 11. Johnson has 78 career blocked shots in her, which ranks 22nd on Syracuse's career record list.
