More About the Orange:
- Graduate goaltender Allie Kelley and freshman forward Nea Tervonen earned College Hockey America weekly awards for helping carry the Orange to two victories at Post last week. Kelley recorded her first Syracuse shutout and totaled 27 saves in the two games. She earned the CHA Goaltender of the Week award. Tervonen secured a goal, won 30 faceoffs, and played in every situation in her debut collegiate series, including power play and penalty kill in the series. Tervonen earned Rookie of the Week for her achievement.
- Syracuse swept Post in the season-opening series. Sophomore forward Heidi Knoll tallied Syracuse's a career-high two goals in the season-opening win.
- All five Syracuse goals scored in the series at Post were tallied by first or second year Syracuse skaters, including sophomore Heidi Knoll (2 goals), sophomore Mik Todd (1), and freshmen Nea Tervonen (1) and Haley Trudeau (1).
- Best Start: Syracuse's 2-0 start this season is the best start in program history. In 2010-11 the Orange stared the season with a 1-0-1 record. That season, Syracuse tied Northeastern, 4-4, and beat #5 New Hampshire, 4-2.
