2023 Schedule
The 2023 Syracuse women's rowing season begins with a scrimmage against the University of Virginia on Saturday, March 18 on the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va.
"It will be great to see them line up and go down the racecourse tomorrow against a team that has been at the top of the ACC for a while to see what we have," said head coach Luke McGee. "It will be a good early season evaluation. The goal for the scrimmage is to see them execute and get into that race day mindset. We want them to go out and perform knowing we will get better as the season goes on."
The regular season starts against Radcliffe, Rutgers and Iowa on March 25th in Camden, N.J.
The 2023 Orange roster features 33 student-athletes from the 2021-22 team that finished second at the ACC Championship and 17th at the NCAA Championship. The Orange have earned an invitation to five of the past six NCAA Championships.
"As a team we focus on performance, on what we do and how well we can do it and having faith in the process to get us where we want to go," Mc Gee said. "We hope that means we can win a conference championship and get to NCAAs and perform well."
Syracuse's 2023 schedule includes four weekend competitions in April, including at the Doc Hosea in Camden, N.J. on April 1st, the Saratoga Invitational against Yale and Cornell on April 9th, the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. on April 21nd and 22rd, and the Eastern Sprints on April 30th in Worcester, Mass.
The 2023 ACC Championship is May 12th and 13th in Raleigh, N.C. and the NCAA Championship is scheduled for May 26th through May 28th in Camden, N.J.
"There is a lot of excitement for the season," McGee said. "We have a great group with our returners and newcomers that continues to be positive and supportive of each other. We are anxious to see what they can accomplish this year."
