SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 2 Syracuse looks to remain unbeaten this season when it hosts ACC foe Virginia Tech on Sunday, March 5. Opening draw in the JMA Wireless Dome is set for 11 a.m.

Tickets for the contest are available at Cuse.com/ticketing. The women's game is part of a doubleheader with the Orange men's lacrosse team, which hosts Duke at 4 p.m. Tickets for that game go on sale at the start of the fourth quarter of the women's game.

Fans can catch all the action on ACCNX and WJPZ 89.1FM in Syracuse. The Orange will be honoring the 15 For Life Foundation.

Syracuse enters the contest with a 5-0 record, including a 1-0 mark in ACC play. The Hokies are 1-3 overall, 0-1 in league action.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Graduate student Meaghan Tyrrell leads the nation in points (34), assists (22) and assists per game (4.40).
Senior Kate Mashewske recorded her 300th draw control on the opening draw at Pittsburgh. She is just the second player in program history to reach the milestone. Her 18 draw controls against UAlbany tie for the most by a Division I player in a game this season and were one shy of the single-game school record.

Graduate student Megan Carney has scored four or more goals in each of the first five games of the season. She leads the ACC and ranks fifth in the nation in goals (21).
The Orange defense has held their last two opponents to less than 10 goals. In those two games, Syracuse gave up one goal or less in seven of eight quarters.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
After winning its season opener, Virginia Tech has last three straight, including its ACC opener against No. 1 North Carolina, 10-6.

Blair Guy, Olivia Vergano and Kayla Frank lead the Hokies' offense with seven points each. Goalkeeper Jocelyn Torres ranks second in the ACC in saves per game (10.25) and third in saves (41).

THE SERIES
Sunday's game will be the 15th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Virginia Tech. The Orange have won 13 of the previous 14 meetings between the two teams.

The squads played in Blacksburg in last year's contest that concluded a three-game road trip for Syracuse. Virginia Tech took an early 2-0 lead before Meaghan Tyrrell scored on an assist from Megan Carney, sparking the Orange on a 5-0 scoring run that gave 'Cuse the lead for good as it posted a 17-5 victory.
