CARY, N.C. – No. 2 seed Syracuse and No. 3 seed Boston College will play for a spot in the national championship game when they meet in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament semifinals on Friday, May 26. Opening draw is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The 2023 NCAA Tournament appearance is the 20th for Syracuse since the program began in 1998. The Orange are making their ninth appearance in the semifinals. Syracuse has an all-time record of 26-19 in tournament play, including a 3-5 mark in the semifinals.

Syracuse defeated No. 7 seed James Madison, 13-7, in the quarterfinals to advance to Championship Weekend. Olivia Adamson scored a season-high four goals and recorded nine draw controls to lead the Orange.

Meaghan Tyrrell has posted 107 points this season, which rank third in the nation and seventh on Syracuse's single-season record list. She is the first player in program history and ninth in Division I to record 400 career points. Tyrrell ranks sixth on the Division I all-time points list with 415.

Delaney Sweitzer ranks seventh in the nation in save percentage (.513), 11th in saves (182) and 13th in goals-against average (9.26). She has recorded 10 or more saves in eight games this season.

Boston College defeated Notre Dame in last week's quarterfinals to advance to Championship Weekend. The Eagles are the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

Jenn Medjid leads the Boston College offense. She has recorded 100 points this season on 77 goals and 23 assists. McKenna Davis has dished out a team-high 58 assists, while Belle Smith anchors Boston College's midfield.

Shea Dolce has started 14 games in goal for Boston College. She has an 8.36 goals-against average and .473 save percentage.

Friday's game marks the second meeting this season and 28th all-time between Syracuse and Boston College. The Orange have won 17 of the previous 27 meetings between the squads.Â

The teams met in the regular-season finale at the SU Soccer Stadium on April 20. The Orange used a 6-0 scoring run in the first quarter to build an 11-6 lead at intermission. Maddy Baxter scored three first-half goals to lead Syracuse. Baxter's fourth goal with one second on the clock gave the Orange a 14-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Eagles fought back and scored twice in the final 2:43 for a 17-16 victory.
