#3 Orange Defeat Cornell in Non-Conference Finale

ITHACA, New York. – Emma Tyrrell and Olivia Adamson scored four goals each and the Syracuse defense allowed a season low in goals in a 17-4 victory at Cornell in women's lacrosse action on Tuesday. The win extended the Orange's winning streak to seven games and improved their record to 10-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Tyrrell gave Syracuse the lead for good when she scored 18 seconds into the action. It was the first of three first-quarter goals for Tyrrell as she helped the Orange to a 6-1 advantage after the first 15 minutes.

The squads traded goals to start the second quarter before 'Cuse ended the half on a 5-0 scoring run to take an 11-2 advantage into the locker room at halftime. Adamson scored twice during the run, which was capped by Tyrrell's fourth goal of the day.

Syracuse led, 12-4, after three quarters and Adamson and Emma Muchnick combined for five goals in the fourth quarter to give the Orange a 17-4 victory.

OF NOTE
Eight different players scored at least one goal for the balanced Orange attack, including Muchnick, who recorded her second hat trick of the season.

Delaney Sweitzer recorded nine saves in 53 minutes of action. She also caused a turnover and picked up five ground balls. Tuesday's game marked the sixth time Syracuse has held its opponent to less than 10 goals this season.

The Orange, led by Kate Mashewske, dominated in the draw circle, winning 20-of-24. Mashewske finished with 12.
