Syracuse Status
Syracuse is off to the program's best start since 2016, when the Orange also began the campaign 3-0-1. Syracuse extended its unbeaten streak last Sunday by defeating Mercyhurst, 5-0.
Graduate midfielder Dalani Stephens scored her first two Syracuse goals against Mercyhurst. She shares season scoring honors with junior midfielder Ashley Rauch, who also has two goals. Freshman Vita Naihlin had two assists versus the Lakers, and leads the squad in that category.
The Orange defense has fashioned back-to-back shutouts. Junior goalkeeper Blythe Braun played the full 90 minutes in the victory against Siena and logged 45 minutes versus Mercyhurst without yielding a goal.
Northwestern Status
The Wildcats arrive at the SU Soccer Stadium with a 3-1 record. Northwestern's only loss came at Virginia, 2-0. The visitors defeated Toledo, 1-0, their last time out.
Junior midfielder Caterina Regazzoni and first-year forward Kennedy Roesch have two goals apiece in 2024. Junior goalkeeper Reiley Fitzpatrick has started all four matches and posted a 1.00 goals-against-average and .333 save percentage.
Notable Notes:
Thursday is Taylor Swift Day at the SU Soccer Stadium. There will be a Taylor Swift themed halftime promotion, poster making and friendship bracelet making at the marketing table and Taylor Swift music throughout the contest.
