Orange Climb Two Spots in National Rankings

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse moved up two spots to No. 4 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and KANE Division I Media rankings released on Monday, Feb. 17. The Orange are 2-0 this season.

Syracuse is coming off a 15-9 victory at then No. 7 Maryland last weekend Emma Ward posted a team-high seven points on three goals and four assists, while Olivia Adamson led the Orange with four goals. Defensively, Daniella Guyette made a career-high 11 saves.

The top four teams are the same in both polls. Defending national champion Boston College remains No. 1, while North Carolina climbed one spot this week to No. 2. Northwestern comes in at No. 3 followed by the Orange. Syracuse takes on the Tar Heels on Saturday in Chapel Hill and the Wildcats on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the JMA Wireless Dome. Overall, 10 teams ranked in this week's top 25 are on Syracuse's schedule this season.

The Orange are back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 18 when they host Cornell in the JMA Dome at 4 p.m. Tickets for the game are available at Cuse.com/tickets.
