2008: Started all 24 games • Named to the womensfieldhockey.com All-American Third Team • Named to the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year • Member of the All-BIG EAST First Team • Had five saves against No. 2 Wake Fores in the National Semifinal • Made four saves in 3-2 overtime victory versus Princeton in the second round of the NCAA Tournament • Keeper of record in 3-2 win against Massachusetts in first round of the NCAA Tournament • Named to the ALL-BIG EAST Tournament team after stopping 12 shots in SU’s two wins • Was brilliant in cage, recording her fifth shutout of the season in SU’s 1-0 win in the championship game at Connecticut • Made three saves in the 7-1 win at Rutgers • Had three saves in 3-1 victory versus No. 14 Boston College • Earned her fourth shutout of the year in 5-0 against Villanova • Played the first half of SU’s 7-0 victory versus Holy Cross • Named the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her role in Syracuse’s wins against No. 20 American and Georgetown • Made four saves in 3-1 victory against American • Keeper of record in 16-0 win at Georgetown • Recorded her third shutout of the season against Yale •

2007: Registered the sixth shutout of her career in SU’s 1-0 victory against UMass • Made a season-best 11 saves versus Temple • Had another 11 saves against No. 16 Louisville • Named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her performances against Georgetown and at No. 12 American • Started and played 54:46 minutes in SU’s 8-1 win against the Hoyas, making three saves while recording her fourth victory of the season • Matched a season-high with 11 saves in 70 minutes in the 3-1 victory versus the Eagles.
2006: Played in 16 games and saw the majority of playing time in the cage • Recorded a 2.04-goals-against-average • Made 69 saves • Had a .690 save percentage • Registered a career-high 17 saves in a 3-0 loss against Connecticut • Named to the BIG EAST honor roll three times (Sept. 4, Oct. 6 and Oct. 23) • Selected to participate in USA Field Hockey’s High Performance Training program.
2005: Named to the second-team All-Mideast Team as part of the Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-Region Team • Awarded BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year honors • Made the All-BIG EAST First Team • Played in all 20 games, starting in 19 • Held opponents to 2.18 goals per game • Recorded 107 saves • Had a .728 save percentage • Recorded 11 saves in a 4-3 upset against Villanova • Led all BIG EAST goalies in saves and saves per game • BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 11 • Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the spring semester.
High School: Served as team captain for the Warwick High School field hockey team • Made 164 saves out of 191 shots with 12 shutouts as a senior, setting the school saves record • For her career, Hess had an .872 save percentage and 19 shutouts • Member of her section, league and district championship teams in 2001, 2003 and 2004 • Named to the all-state second team in 2003 and all-state first team in 2004.
Personal: Born December 1986 in Ephreta, Pa. • Daughter of Mike and Brenda Hess • One sister • Majoring in health and exercise science.
Ambitions in hockey? To win the BIG EAST Tournament and help the team become a top 10 program.
Strengths on the field? Work ethic, quickness, and my ability to react to stuations.
Why did you choose SU? I really liked the team and I thought it would be a good fit for me athletically and academically.
