SYRACUSE, N.Y. -Â The rv/rv Syracuse Orange women's basketball team (11-1) closes a five-game homestand on Sunday when it hosts Boise State (6-5) at the Carrier Dome in a 1 p.m. tip-off. Please note that the game time has changed from its originally scheduled 7 p.m. tip-time.
• Sunday's game is the Orange's final non-conference game of the regular season. SU heads to Milwaukee to open its final BIG EAST season on Jan. 5 at Marquette.
• The Orange is coming off a 64-51 victory over Washington State on Dec. 21 at the Carrier Dome, in which four players scored in double figures. It improved SU to 5-0 at home this season. Syracuse started the season with seven out of eight games on the road, going 7-1, including victories over ACC foes Georgia Tech (75-72 OT) and Virginia (74-73) in Puerto Rico (Nov. 23-24).
• Syracuse returns home after its Jan. 5 game at Marquette to host two BIG EAST games in a row: Georgetown on Jan. 12 and DePaul on Jan. 15.
GAME COVERAGE
• All the Orange's games can be heard live on SU's flagship station, ESPN 97.7 FM/1200 AM, and on Orange All-Access at SUathletics.com with Brian Higgins '04 on the call. Saturday's game will also be on WJPZ 89.1 FM.
• Orange All Access at SUAthletics.com will have live video and audio of the game, while SUAthletics.com will also have free live stats.
DOME SWEET DOME
• Syracuse has a record of 68-31 (.687) in 99 games in the Carrier Dome since moving there full-time in 2006-07.
• SU is 5-0 at home this season, winning by an average margin of 31.2 points.
• Last season, SU was 9-6. The Orange was nearly unbeatable on its home court in 2010-11, posting a 20-2 record in the Dome.
NON-CONFERENCE HOME STREAK
• Syracuse has won 52 non-conference home games in a row, dating back to the 2006-07 season, Quentin Hillsman's first season as head coach at SU. He is 54-5 in his career in such games.
• The Orange went 6-0 last season in out-of-conference play at the Dome.Â
• SU's last non-conference home loss was on Dec. 22, 2006 to Canisius (56-43).
• In 2010-11 SU was 14-0, 12-0 in 2009-10, 8-0 in 2008-09, and 7-0 in 2007-08.
ORANGE ROAD SHOW
• Syracuse opened the season by playing seven of eight games away from the Carrier Dome, going 6-1, including 4-1 on the opponent's court. SU's 4-0 away-game record in November was the best among all BCS conference teams, ahead of Arkansas (3-0) and Arizona (3-0). Its 6-0 record in neutral-site and away games combined was also the best among major conference teams.
• Going back to last season, SU played 15 out of 16 games away from home between the regular season finale on Feb. 27 and this season's eighth game on Dec. 2.
• The Orange's 10-5 record on the road in 2011-12 was the best in program history in terms of wins, surpassing seven, done  most recently in 2007-08, and is the best in terms of winning percentage (.667) since 1978-79 (7-1, .875).
• In last season's WNIT, Syracuse won four consecutive away games for the first time in 22 years.
'CUSE GETS VOTES
• Syracuse is receiving votes in both the latest Associated Press (10 points) and USA TODAY Coaches Poll (22 points). The Orange is five spots out of the top 25 in the coaches' poll.
• SU received a season-high 30 points in the Nov. 26 AP poll, its first time getting votes in that poll this season, and 38 in the coaches poll, which it has received votes in every week.
SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse has won the only previous meeting between the two programs, last season's 70-47 Orange victory in Boise on Nov. 29.
• Iasia Hemingway scored a then-career-best 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting to lead the Orange. Kayla Alexander added 17 points, while Carmen Tyson-Thomas and Shakeya Leary each had 10 rebounds as the Orange dominated the boards, 57-26, and in points in the paint, 44-20.
SCOUTING BOISE STATE
• The Broncos are 6-5 on the season, alternating wins and losses in their last six games. They are coming off a 52-50 win at home against South Dakota on Dec. 22.
• Boise State also defeated Carroll College, 76-64, on Dec. 9 in its four-game homestand it is coming off which included losses to Eastern Washington (74-63) on Dec. 7 and Portland (73-49) on Dec. 16.
• Sunday's game at the Carrier Dome is the Broncos' only regular season game east of the Mountain Time Zone.
• Lauren Lenhardt is the Broncos' only double-digit scorer, averaging 14.9 ppg, while also leading the team with 7.4 rebounds per contest.
• Brandi Henton is averaging 9.0 ppg and leads the team with 16 3-point field goals in 62 attempts (.258).
• Gordy Presnell is in his eighth season as head coach. He is 131-99 in his stint with the Broncos.
ORANGE DEFEATS COUGARS
• Syracuse extended its non-conference home winning streak to 52 games with a 64-51 triumph against Washington State (3-7) on Dec. 21. Senior Kayla Alexander led the Orange (11-1) offense with 18 points, while fellow senior Elashier Hall notched 13 points.
• Carmen Tyson-Thomas (11 points) and Brianna Butler (10 points) each hit two 3-pointers and gave SU four players in double figures.
• A 3-point bucket by Tyson-Thomas at 11:15 in the first half, giving SU a 13-12 lead, was the beginning of a 14-0 scoring run that put the Orange in control, 24-12. SU's run included five points by Hall, who scored a 3-point basket and a layup. The Orange would hold on to the lead for the remainder of the contest.
• Syracuse held a 41-35 advantage on the boards, led by seven each from Alexander, Hall and Tyson-Thomas.
BUTLER HONORED BY BIG EAST
• Brianna Butler was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Dec. 17 for her efforts in helping lead the Orange (10-1) to a 68-45 victory vs. Binghamton on Dec. 15 at the Carrier Dome.
• The freshman guard scored 12 points in the win victory that ran Syracuse's non-conference home winning streak to 51 games. Butler made a career-high four 3-pointers on eight attempts, to go along with six rebounds, four steals and two assists.
• Butler joins senior center Kayla Alexander as Orange players that have taken BIG EAST weekly honors this season. Alexander has twice been named BIG EAST Player of the Week (11/19, 12/10) and was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll once (11/26).
DOMINATING THE GLASS
• Dominant rebounding has become the norm for the Orange in recent years. Syracuse is averaging 45.6 rebounds per game, with the most impressive showing being a 61-35 advantage on Nov. 20 at St. Joe's.
• In the BIG EAST, SU is second in total rebounds per game (45.6), offensive rebounds (18.1), defensive rebounds (27.5) and fourth in rebounding margin (+9.4).
• SU finished second in the NCAA in rebounding in 2011-12, averaging 46.2 per game and ranked 11th in rebounding margin (+8.9).
• SU had three of the top 15 rebounders in the league in 2011-12: 7. Carmen Tyson-Thomas, 7.8; 9. Kayla Alexander, 7.5; and 15. Iasia Hemingway, 6.4.
• Syracuse led the NCAA in rebounding margin in 2010-11 at +13.4 per game. SU outrebounded 31 of its 35 opponents.
STEAL MASTERS
• Syracuse's pressure defense in the fullcourt and aggressive 2-3 zone in the halfcourt have resulted in the Orange leading the BIG EAST in steals, averaging 13.4 per game.
• The Orange's thievery has been a balanced effort, with Rachel Coffey (2.0 per game), Carmen Tyson-Thomas (2.0) and Elashier Hall (1.9) leading the way.
• Syracuse's opponents are averaging 22.8 turnovers per game through 12 games, resulting in a +5.17 turnover margin for the Orange.
• SU ranked 15th nationally in steals per game as of the last NCAA statistics update on Dec. 17.
ALEXANDER: SETTING RECORDS
• Senior center Kayla Alexander has scored 1,691 points in 120 career games. She passed Erica Morrow's (2008-11) 1,658 for second all-time at Syracuse with 20 points in Dec. 4's 83-48 win vs. Loyola. She is 96 points behind the program's all-time leading scorer, Nicole Michael's (2007-10) 1,787.
• Alexander scored a career-high 34 points, single-handedly outscoring Wagner in SU's 66-28 win on Dec. 4. Her night included a Carrier Dome-record 14 field goals made. It was the most points scored in a game by an SU player since Nicole Michael's 36 vs. Binghamton on Nov. 22, 2009.
• Alexander passed Holly Oslander (1989-94) to become Syracuse's all-time blocks leader with eight rejections in the opener vs. Fairleigh Dickinson (11/11). She now has 300 to Oslander's 262.
• Alexander passed Nicole Michael (2007-10) for the SU career record for free throws made (425) in the Orange's win vs. Georgia Tech (11/23). She has scored 455 points at the line in her career.
• Alexander, a two-time All-BIG EAST selection and preseason All-Conference honoree, leads the Orange in scoring (20.0 ppg), rebounding (8.8 rpg) and blocks (3.7 bpg).Â
TYSON-THOMAS MAKES IMPACT
• Senior Carmen Tyson-Thomas became the 22nd Orange player to reach the 1,000-point mark in SU's 66-28 win vs. Wagner on Dec. 4. On the season she is averaging 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds.
• A 36 percent shooter in her career entering this season, the senior has become one the Orange's most efficient shooters in her senior season, shooting 46 percent overall.
• The Philadelphia native recorded her 19th career double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds in Nov. 20's win at Saint Joseph's. She had a team-high 18 points in her hometown against Temple on Dec. 2.
• The 5-9 swing player recorded double-digit rebounds 12 times in 2011-12 and began the 2012-13 season with 10 boards in the opener vs. Fairleigh Dickinson.
HALL DISPLAYS ALL-AROUND GAME
• Do-everything guard Elashier Hall has been just that for the Orange thus far in 2012-13, averaging 9.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
• She is coming off a 13-point, seven-rebound, three-assist, three-steal performance vs. Washington State on Dec. 21.
• Hall was the star for the Orange in its two wins in Puerto Rico at the San Juan Shootout (11/23-24), recording the fifth double-double if her career with 15 points and 11 rebounds vs. Georgia Tech and poured in 17 points, including the game-winning free throws with .4 seconds left vs. Virginia.
• Despite playing much of the latter half of last season on an injured knee, Hall finished strong, averaging 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds in the final four games of the WNIT. She scored 18 in the semifinals at JMU (3/28) after three-straight 11-point outings.
1-2 POINT GUARD TANDEM
• The point guard tandem of freshman Cornelia Fondren and junior Rachel Coffey have been very effective in running the Orange offense, which is averaging 75.8 points per game.
• Coffey (19.9 minutes/game) has come off the bench in every game but one and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in assists (4.6 apg), while compiling an impressive 55-to-28 assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0) that ranks sixth-best in the BIG EAST.
• Coffey had her first career double-double at Temple on Dec. 2, dishing out a career-best 10 assists and scoring 11 points in a season-high 37 minutes.
• Fondren (19.0 minutes/game) has started 11 of 12 games at the point and had a career-high six-assists with just one turnover vs. Loyola on Dec. 8. She has 15 assists over the last three games.
• The rookie played well against ACC competion in the Orange's wins in Puerto Rico, averaging four assists per game.
• Fondren has been a selective, yet effective, shooter from the outside for SU. She is 4-of-7 from 3-point range this season and is also shooting 80 percent at the free throw line.
• Coffey was the catalyst for SU in the postseason in 2011-12. She averaged a team-best 13.3 points and 5.5 assists per game in SU's four WNIT wins, along with 48 percent shooting from 3-point range (11-23).
• Coffey ended the regular season on fire from the outside, shooting 24-of-52 (.462) from 3-point range in the last 10 games of the regular season, while averaging 3.2 assists per game in that stretch.
