Orange, Tar Heels Battle for ACC Title Sunday

RICHMOND, Va. -- Syracuse goes for its second Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament title when it takes on North Carolina in the championship game on Sunday, April 29 in Richmond, Va. at 1 p.m. It marks the third consecutive year the Orange and Tar Heels have met in the final.

HOW THEY GOT HERE
Syracuse, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, defeated Virginia, 15-12, in the semifinals to reach the championship game for the fourth consecutive year. The Orange enter Sunday's game with a 15-5 overall record. North Carolina beat Boston College in the semifinals, 17-14. The Tar Heels, which are the tournament No. 1 seed and third-ranked team in the nation, are 15-2 this season.

Syracuse and North Carolina will meet with the ACC title on the line for the third consecutive season. The Orange claimed the 2015 title, while the Tar Heels won last year's final. Both games were decided in overtime.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina features one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation as four players have recorded 30 or more goals this season. Molly Hendrick leads the way with 59 goals and 66 points. Caylee Waters is the Tar Heels' starting goalkeeper. She has a .493 save percentage and a 9.50 goals-against average.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and North Carolina will meet for the 11th time overall and second this season. The Orange traveled to Chapel Hill on April 15. Syracuse scored the first four goals of the game and went on to the 13-11 victory, which snapped North Carolina's nine-game winning
