Syracuse, N.Y. – On Sunday, Jan. 13, the 12th-ranked Syracuse University women's basketball team will host Girl Scout Day in the Carrier Dome for the Orange's home Atlantic Coast Conference opener versus North Carolina at 3 p.m. Fans should arrive early in anticipation of large attendance numbers. There have been 3,000 tickets distributed as of Tuesday morning and tickets are still available for purchase online.
Prior to tip-off the Girl Scouts will be set up in the back court for the CookieWow event. CookieWow is the official kickoff for cookie selling season for the Girl Scouts of NYPENN. There will be different vendors set up with activities for attendees. Activities are centered around the Girl Scouts' five core skills of people skills, business ethics, money management, goal setting and decision making.
There will be cookie tasting, a selfie station, a Girl Scout recruitment tent and a boutique to shop for merchandise.
Following the game's conclusion, the women's basketball team will be signing autographs.
The Orange improved to 13-2 overall after opening ACC play on the road with a pair of road wins at Clemson and No. 25 Virginia Tech last week. 'Cuse moved up two spots in the Associated Press (AP) Poll and point guard Tiana Mangakahia was named ACC Co-Player of the Week.
