For the fifth time in six years the Syracuse women's basketball team will begin the season nationally ranked. The Orange check in at No. 21 in the Associated Press (AP) Top-25, marking the third-best preseason rank in program history.
Â
Eight of Syracuse's 2019-20 opponents are ranked in the preseason poll with the potential of 10 opponents, including No. 3 Stanford and No. 10 Mississippi State at the Greater Victoria Invitation Nov. 28-30. Four Syracuse opponents sit outside the top-25 receiving votes.
Â
The Orange begin the season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Ohio, who is receiving votes after being one of eight NCAA Division I teams to win 30 games last season. The Orange host No. 1 Oregon on Nov. 24 in a rematch from last season when the then-ranked No. 3 Ducks defeated Syracuse, 75-73, in Eugene, Ore.
Â
'Cuse welcomes No. 9 Louisville, No. 12 Florida State and No. 16 Notre Dame to the Carrier Dome this season and will travel to No. 14 NC State, No. 18 Miami and No. 25 Michigan. Additionally, Syracuse will have road games at Louisville and Notre Dame in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) action due to the conference schedule expanding to 19 games.
Â
Syracuse's highest preseason rank was No. 14 to start the 2016-17 season after finishing as the national runner up in the 2016 national championship game. The Orange ranked as high as No. 12 last season en route to their seventh-straight NCAA Tournament bid where they hosted the first and second rounds for the second time in program history.
Syracuse season tickets start at $75 and are available for sale by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) or at The Box Office at the Ensley Athletic Center, which will operate extended hours on Mondays, from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, and will be open Tuesday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, for purchasing tickets to all Dome events.
