Orange Move Up to No. 16 in USA Today Coaches Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's basketball team (22-7, 11-5 ACC) moved up one spot to No. 16 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll. The Orange went 2-1 last week, which included their fourth win over a ranked opponent this season at No. 22 Florida State on Thursday.
Syracuse competed in front of its largest home crowd of the season when it welcomed No. 4 Notre Dame to the Carrier Dome last Monday. Despite double-digit performances from four Syracuse players, the Orange lost, 98-68, in their final home game of the season.
'Cuse hit the road for the final two games of the regular season and earned wins in both. Tiana Mangakahia tied her career-high of 44 points to lift the Orange to a 94-88 win over No. 22 Florida State guiding Syracuse to its first win in program history in Tallahassee.
In the regular season finale, Mangakahia surpassed the 1,000 career point mark with 27 points as Syracuse defeated Boston College, 76-59. The Australian native became the fastest player in program history to reach that mark.
Syracuse enters the 2019 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face the winner of Wednesdays Boston College/Virginia game on Thursday at 11 a.m. Fans can follow the action live on the Regional Sports Network (RSN).
