CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --Â Another top-five match up awaits the No. 1 Syracuse women's lacrosse team as it takes on No. 5 North Carolina on Saturday, April 15. Opening draw in Chapel Hill is set for 12 p.m.

Syracuse enters the game with a 14-0 overall record, including a 7-0 in ACC play. The Orange are one win away from tying the record for the longest winning streak in school history. The Tar Heels are 11-2 this season, which includes a 6-1 league record.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse is No. 1 in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll for the fourth consecutive week. It marks the longest stretch that the Orange have held down the top spot in the poll in program history. This week's RPI rankings also have Syracuse ranked No. 1.

Saturday's game marks the ninth against a team ranked in the top 20 for the Orange. Syracuse's strength of schedule ranks third nationally.

Olivia Adamson is coming off one of her best overall performances in the Orange's win against Clemson. She recorded a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists. Adamson also posted a personal-best 14 draw controls. She was named US Lacrosse Magazine's Player of the Week.

Meaghan Tyrrell continues to climb closer to the top of Syracuse's all-time points list. With five points against Clemson, Tyrrell increased her career total to 388. She trails current head coach Kayla Treanor by five points for second place and is eight behind all-time leader Katie Rowan.

Defending national champion North Carolina has won two straight, including a 12-9 victory against East Carolina on Tuesday.

Caitlyn Wurzburger and Reilly Casey have both amassed a team-best 51 points. Casey leads the squad with 28 assists, while freshman Marissa White's 33 goals lead the way for the Tar Heels.

Alecia Nicholas has started all 13 games in goal for North Carolina. She ranks second in the ACC behind Syracuse's Delaney Sweiter in goals-against average (8.15).

Saturday's game marks the 18th all-time meeting between Syracuse and North Carolina. The Tar Heels hold a 10-7 advantage in the series.

The squads met last season in the JMA Wireless Dome. Meaghan Tyrrell scored three goals in the first half, which ended with the teams tied at 7-7.

Adamson started the scoring in the second half, but the Tar Heels tallied the next four goals to take an 11-8 lead. Syracuse wouldn't go away and back-to-back goals by Tyrrell and Natalie Smith cut the deficit to one, 13-12, with 3:09 remaining. That was as close as the Orange could get as Jamie Ortega scored with 1:36 on the clock for the 14-12 final.
