SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – No. 7 Syracuse posted its third-straight victory with a 20-11 win against UAlbany on Tuesday in the JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange are now 6-3 this season.

Emma Tyrrell, Emma Ward and Olivia Adamson had four goals each to lead the 'Cuse offense, which has posted 20 goals in back-to-back games. Overall, eight different players scored at least one goal in the win. On the defensive end, Katie Goodale posted three caused turnovers and four ground balls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Great Danes (2-7) got the scoring started 48 seconds into the action, but the Orange responded with a 6-1 scoring run and led 6-2 after the first quarter. Adamson had a pair of goals and an assist during the offensive outburst.

Tyrrell scored two of her goals in the second quarter, helping Syracuse take a 12-5 advantage into the locker room at halftime. UAlbany scored three of the first five goals after the break to cut the deficit to six, but that was close as they would get.

OF NOTE
It was another night of personal milestones for the Orange. Kate Mashewske became the second player in program history to record 400 draw controls in her career. In addition, Ward became the second member of the Orange to record her 200th career point in as many games.

Syracuse recorded 42 shots to 29 for UAlbany, and held a 21-16 advantage in ground balls. The Great Danes won 18-of-34 draw controls.

UP NEXT
Syracuse returns to ACC play on Saturday, March 23 when it takes on No. 9 Virginia in Charlottesville at noon. It marks the Orange's fifth game against a top-10 opponent this season.
