SYRACUSE, NEW YORK -- No. 5 Syracuse goes for its third-straight win when it hosts No. 12 Stony Brook on Tuesday, March 5. Opening draw in the JMA Wireless Dome is set for 6 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (3-2) remained unbeaten in ACC play with a 15-8 victory against Duke last Saturday in the JMA Dome. Emma Tyrrell led the 'Cuse offense with a season-high five goals, while Katie Goodale had four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Kate Mashewske recorded 11 draw controls, helping the Orange to a 20-7 advantage in the draw circle.
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook defeated Villanova, 20-8, last Saturday to improve its record to 4-0.
Ellie Masera leads the nation in points per game (8.75) and is third in total points (35). In addition, her 24 goals rank sixth. Masera and the Seawolves rank third in the nation in draw controls per game.
Emily Manning has started all four games in goal for Stony Brook. She has a 9.83 goals-against average and a .370 save percentage.
THE SERIES
Tuesday's game marks the seventh meeting between Syracuse and Stony Brook. The Orange lead the all-time series, 5-1.
The Seawolves visited the JMA Wireless Dome last season. Stony Brook led, 8-7, before Megan Carney scored back-to-back goals to spark Syracuse on a 4-0 scoring run. Maddy Baxter found the back of the net with four seconds on the clock to send the Orange into the locker room with an 11-8 lead.
Syracuse led, 13-9, after three quarters and three-straight goals to start the fourth quarter gave the Orange their largest lead of the day at 16-9. Carney started the fourth quarter scoring before Tessa Queri tallied back-to-back goals. The Seawolves scored the final two goals of the game for the 16-11 final.
