CHARLOTTE, North Carolina --Â No. 4 Syracuse faces another top 10 battle when it takes on No. 6 Virginia in the semifinals of the ACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament. Opening draw on Friday, April 26 is set for 5 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Top-seed Syracuse advanced to the semifinals with a 17-8 victory against Louisville in Wednesday's quarterfinal. The Orange are making their eighth appearance in the semifinals since joining the league in 2014. Syracuse has an all-time record of 14-8 in ACC Tournament play, including a 5-2 mark in the semifinals. The Orange won the 2015 ACC Championship, defeating North Carolina in OT in the title game.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
Virginia is the No. 5 seed in the ACC Tournament and advanced to the semifinals with a 13-12 win against fourth-seed North Carolina in the quarterfinals. The win improved the Cavaliers' record to 14-3.

Morgan Schwab leads Virginia with 67 points. Her 51 assists rank sixth in the nation. Katie Carnevale has scored a team-best 47 goals and ranks second with 60 points. Mel Josephson is Virginia's starter in goal. She has a 10.02 goals-against average and a .461 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game will be the 31st meeting between Syracuse and Virginia. The Orange lead the all-time series, 17-13. The squads met earlier this season in Charlottesville.

The Cavaliers jumped out to an early 5-1 lead, but Maddy Baxter scored three of her career-high five goals during a 4-0 'Cuse scoring run that evened the score. Neither team could pull away as Virginia scored the final goal of the third quarter and the first of the fourth to take a 14-12 lead. The Orange rallied and scored the final three goals to record a 15-14 victory.

The winner of Friday's game will meet the winner of the second semifinal between Notre Dame and Boston College in the championship game, which is scheduled for Sunday, April 28 at noon on ACC Network.
