2005-06: Competed in the 200 and 400 IM at the Big East Championships ... Placed third in the 200 IM against Villanova ... Took third in the 200 IM at Seton Hall ... Competed in two events at West Virginia and three events at Connecticut ... Finished third in the 100-breaststroke at the Yale Nutmeg Invitational ... Swam in five events at the Nike Cup, posting his season-best time in the 400-IM with a time of 4:07.09 ... Placed third in the 200 IM at Colgate... Competed in six events at the Army Invitational... Placed third in the 200 breatstroke at Pittsburgh
2004-05: Posted season-best times at the Nike Cup in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.31) and the 200 individual medley (1:54.58)...finished top 16 in the 200 breaststroke at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 2:08.03...also competed in the 400 individual medley and the 200 individual medley at the BIG EAST Championship...BIG EAST Academic All-Star...named to both the Fall and Spring Athletic Director's Honor Rolls.
2003-04: Scored points for Syracuse at the BIG EAST Championship in the 400 individual medley beating his previous best with a time of 4:03.52…finished 14th overall with a time of 4:03.91...also competed in the 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM at the BIG EAST Championship...posted top times for the Orange in the 200 IM at the Nike Cup (1:52.67) and at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 1:53.70...earned a spot on the Fall and Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll and was named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
2002-03: Scored points for Syracuse at the BIG EAST Championship in the 400 individual medley where he posted a season-best time of 4:03.78 in the preliminaries and finished 14th overall with a finals time of 4:05.11...also swam in the 200 individual medley at the conference meet (1:54.09) and the 200 breaststroke (2:07.08)...his top time of the season in the 200 IM was posted at the Nike Cup (1:53.09)...earned a spot on the Fall and Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll...named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
High School: Swam for the Ajax Aquatic Club...a senior national qualifier...coached by Trent McNicol...as a senior he finished second at junior nationals in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:06.90...captured third place in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:05.20) and the 200-meter breaststroke (2:22.00) at junior nationals his senior year...a 14-time provincial champion...a four-time junior national silver medalist...member of the 1996 Ontario Tour team.
Personal: Born July 19, 1983 in Ajax, Ontario...the son of Brad and Lori Ackroyd...has one brother...majoring in psychology.
