2002-03: Posted his fastest times of the season in the 200 freestyle (1:43.19) and the 200 backstroke (1:55.49) at the Nike Cup...finished first in the 200 backstroke at the Rutgers Invitational with a time of 1:57.80...member of the fall and spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll...a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
2001-02: Won the 1,000 freestyle in a dual meet against St. Bonaventure...his best time of the season in the 1,000 freestyle was 10:11.88 against Pittsburgh...his fastest time in the 500 freestyle was 4:54.24 in a second-place finish against Seton Hall...was strong at the Rutgers Invitational with two first-place finishes in the 200 IM (1:58.66) and the 200 backstroke (1:55.89)...a BIG EAST Academic All-Star...named to the Fall 2001 and Spring 2002 Athletic Director's Honor Rolls.
2000-01: Recorded his fastest times of the season in the 1,000 freestyle against St. Bonaventure and in the 1,650 freestyle at the Nike Cup...selected as a BIG EAST Academic All-Star...named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll both semesters.
High School: Competed four years on the swim team at Cumberland High School for Coach Bruce Calvert...team finished fifth at the state championship his senior year...swam the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle events...served as team captain his senior season...posted personal-best times of 49.5 in the 100 free, 1:48.7 in the 200 free and 4:52 in the 500 free...finished first in the 100 and 200 freestyle events at the state championship meet...his best times came when swimming with the Attleboro Bluefish Club team of which he was a member from 1998-2000...named first-team all-state in 2000...selected as the Senior Rhode Island Swimmer of the Year.
Personal: Born Feb. 23, 1982...son of Craig and Joyce Polucha...one brother...majoring in television-radio-film and psychology.
