Meet the Orange: #34 Izabel Varejão

Syracuse women's basketball season is just around the corner. It's time to get to know the newcomers to this year's squad.
Graduate transfer Izabel Varejão, a Brazilian native who spent the summer playing for Brazil at the World University Games in China, chose Syracuse for a fresh start and a new opportunity. Varejão grew up in a basketball family, her uncle Anderson Varejão is a 14-year NBA veteran, and she sees the sport as a door to open so many opportunities in her life.
The Orange host Saint Rose on Tuesday, Oct. 31 for an exhibition game at the JMA Wireless Dome at 5 p.m. The season opener is set for the following Tuesday, Nov. 7 vs. Lafayette at 7 p.m.
Season, single-game and partial-plan tickets are on sale now for all Syracuse women's basketball games. To purchase, fans can visit cuse.com/tickets or call the JMA Wireless Dome box office at 888-DOME-TIX.
